Here we are nearly half way through June already!
June2
My new roses came today! Brindabella Swirl from GE and Ebb Tide from Swane's. Can't wait to see them in bloom. I've seen photos of Ebb Tide on an American website, and it does look gorgeous. I potted them as soon as they'd had a soak in seaweed solution.
June 3
Today we went to a bin hire company where a friend of mine works, took the trailer and came home with a big load of 7" x 7" pavers and some fair sized volcanic rocks for FREE!
June 4
Started putting pavers around the new rose bed, I was going to lay them edge up, but David though flat would look nice, so I compromised and laid one of each all round. This activity took me to
June 10
The finished paved edge looks really nice, a bit uneven in places but it doesn't matter. I spent a bit of time raking up Autumn leaves to put in the compost bay. At least 4 barrow loads and there's plenty more ! I found some little Daffodils with buds pushing up through the lawn, David's been waiting for these for 2 years! Jonquils are open in the back rose bed, so bright and cheery, a promise of Spring (Can't wait for that!)
I've managed to give away lots of lettuce and rocket and carrots to my daughter and DIL and BIL, we should be able to eat the rest ourselves.
June 13
The weather has gone feral! Last night and all day today we've had lashing rain and high winds. We get a few breaks in it but it's not nice out there!.
I found a lonely little Dendrobium bloom today, so I brought it inside. I managed to get another vase full of roses the other day, but they're a bit battered looking.
