A Gardening Diary

Wednesday, July 18, 2007

A busy few days have happened. At the weekend I went to a party for a group of online forum gardeners. It was very good, and we all took cuttings etc to swap with others. One couple who came were from a garden supply company who specialise in bulbs.
Being the end of the planting season for bulbs they bought boxes and boxes and bags and bags of bulbs which were all shared out amongst us. There were Hyacinths, daffodils, Jonquils, freesias, Ranunculi, and several unnamed packets too. Hundreds of them all together. They had all started shooting so may not flower well this year but should be fine next year if I feed them after the flowering season this year.
We are so lucky, no way could i ever have afforded to buy all those :)
So on monday, a fine sunny day, I spent a long time planting them and today we made labels to ID each group of them and remind me where they are !!
I also planted Russian Garlic and the 3 Standard roses that happy Potter obtained for me :)
