A Gardening Diary

The Compost is assembled, ready to process into good stuff. All the nasturtiums, peas, silverbeet, weeds, Arum lilies, and a bag of horse manure were thrown onto the lawn (RIP) and run over with the lawn mower. Then I mixed in some comfrey, B&B, sawdust and water and it`s all a matter of time now.
I planted out most of the plants I got from the sale, but kept in pots the blue Eye Grass, and the Leucodendron. The bed that had the broad beans in it has now got several varieties of basil, including lime, cinnamon, sweet and opal. The Peony Poppies are now opening red flowers, they`re quite spectacular but the blooms are shattered by the wind easily.
When, and if, all the plants in the long bed mature I will have to move a few, it`s standing room only at the moment !
The little Lemonade tree has several fruit forming and I have to steel myself to cut them off as it`s too small to be bearing yet, it needs toconcentrate on establishing and growing this year.( Maybe I`ll let it keep just one.........)
