A Gardening Diary

It was back to Bunnings again yesterday. I had gift cards for Christmas burning a hole in my purse!!
I bought a new watering wand with a trigger - de luxe model ! A roll of bird wire to make more cages for my strawberry pots, six more strawberries, a bag of potting mix and that took care of my gift cards twice over.
The Monsteria has 2 more fruit open, I wonder if they`ll disappear like the first one ? I have photographic evidence again !
The tomatoes are ripening quite fast in this 34 deg heat, and so are the strawbs.

I removed my strawberry plants as I wanted the area to be used for producing food all year round. So those months the plants were just sitting there, they can now grow food instead.

I'm looking at the fact fruit & veg is predicted to skyrocket (along with eggs) in this early part of the year. I want to get as much out of the vegie patch as possible to help us save money.

Yes Lucky, strawberries are a luxury and that`s why they`re not in my vegie patch. They`re in big pots sitting on the lawn next to the vegies !
That reminds me, I must see what vegie seeds I`ve got and sow some. At the moment there`s not much more than tomatoes, carrots, spring onions, leeks and herbs out there.
