There's no doubt about it, Spring is a high maintenance season in the garden. Today i sprayed the roses with milk and water and seaweed concentrate as their second treatment for Blackspot and Powdery Mildew. Next it will be Triflorine or Condy's crystals.
I rescued the fuschias under the willow from very enthusiastic nasturtiums which were threatening to overwhelm them. They make excellent ground cover and keep weeds down, but they do go mad.
I got my order from garden Express today!! 6 Hippeastrums, which I've never grown before and which I'm really excited about, and 5 Cymbidium orchids which are very young and will take several years to flower. I've planted the Hippies in 2 wide pots in groups of 3 ( No !! )
When I looked at my Cymbidiums that haven't flowered yet which I've had since last year I realised they needed their potting mix topped up and a couple needed potting on. Also with the Clivias, desperate for more root room. So that job's done too.
